Information for providers referring an adolescent or adult:

Referral for Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)

I welcome referrals from other professionals, including for new clients being discharged from hospitals. Please feel free to call with any questions and information. You may also have you client call me directly. CBT can be effective with or without medication. I can coordinate treatment with the prescribing clinician as needed.

Referral for Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

A referral to DBT is a referral for the entire treatment, not for skills training group alone. To be most effective, DBT requires that clients have only one individual therapist while in DBT. I'd be happy to discuss the reasons for this and a transition process with both you and your client. Clients may return to the referring therapist after they complete the initial year of DBT. I can coordinate treatment with the prescribing clinician as needed.

Therapists wishing to make a referral will need to provide the following information when they call:

  • Client’s name, age and contact information.
  • Client’s key problem behaviors
  • Any history of substance use
  • Client’s willingness to commit to treatment.

Thank you for your referrals.
